Endodontic Special Interest Dentist - GDC: 100152
BDS MFDS(RCPSG), MSc Clinical Endodontics (USW), MSc Oral Pathology (UCL), PG Dip Endo (KCL)
Syed is a conservative dentist and believes in minimally invasive dentistry. His rehabilitation approach is to restore the functional and aesthetic requirement of his patient’s dentition. To acknowledge his skills in dentistry, Syed received membership from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow. He has a special interest in Endodontics and has a post graduate diploma from King’s College London and MSc in clinical Endodontics from University of South Wales. Syed also has a research background with an MSc in Experimental Oral Pathology from Queen Mary University of London.
In his clinical practice, Syed is very keen on vital pulp therapy to preserve and maintain pulp tissue which has been compromised but not completely destroyed by caries or trauma. For his root canal procedures, he uses a microscope for high quality magnification and illumination which is critical for the improved outcome of complex endodontic procedures.
Syed has been an educational supervisor of Health Education England for newly qualified dentists since 2011.
Syed works closely with the clinical team at Thorndike. He will often hold joint consultations with our implant dentist Dr Behzad Manzoor covering both endodontic and dental implant procedures to offer our patients bespoke treatment plans maintaining their best interests when restoring their complete dentition. He also frequently employs use of CAD CAM (Cerec) technology to offer same day precision fit crowns/on-lays for his patients.
Syed strongly believes in orthodontic restorative care to improve patient aesthetics. He offers Invisalign clear aligner systems and minimally invasive composite edge bonding treatments to restore function and aesthetics for his patients.
